Joseph “Joe” Marinko began his law enforcement career in 2002 as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Over the next two decades, he conducted and supported investigations across a broad range of complex matters, including federal crimes, weapons of mass destruction, counterintelligence, and background investigations for presidential appointees.

Throughout his FBI career, Mr. Marinko served in multiple field offices and at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he worked as a Supervisory Special Agent. He developed strong working relationships within the Bureau and across federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, helping build cooperative partnerships in support of investigative operations.

Mr. Marinko earned numerous awards and special recognition for his work in the counterintelligence field. He also developed a strong reputation for his interviewing skills, ability to elicit information, and talent for developing sources from all walks of life. Because of that expertise, he was often called upon to train new Special Agents in these essential investigative skills.

As Principal Investigator of Touchstone Investigations, Mr. Marinko brings FBI-level experience, professionalism, and creative problem-solving to private investigations. Known for his unconventional thinking and ability to find practical solutions, he approaches each matter with discretion, objectivity, and attention to detail.

Outside of his investigative work, Joe enjoys spending time with his family and pursuits that sharpen strategy, observation, and decision-making, including the occasional game of poker.
